Did you know that right now there are more people living in slavery than any other time in human history? In 2019, there were children trafficked in every single one of Florida’s 67 counties. And in just this past December, right here in Tallahassee, over 170 people were arrested, a part of Operation Stolen Innocence, with charges ranging from child pornography all the way to human trafficking. This is happening in our backyard.

It’s only February and it’s already been a divisive year, but one thing we can agree on is people should never be sold. February 25th is Shine A Light On Slavery Day. Started by the End It Movement, it is a day where people all over the world, and in all walks of life, mark their hands with a red X to raise awareness that slavery still exists today.

As content creators, we want do our part because we want to see slavery abolished in our lifetime. We set up studios in Tallahassee and Tampa to photograph anyone who wanted to join in. We wanted to give people content to begin having conversations about what’s happening and how people can get involved to END IT.

But, advocacy without action can only go so far, so we’ve partnered with the Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking and Voices for Florida to offer you practical resources, tools and steps to join in the fight. Stay tuned for more info.
